# Softknock > Softknock builds REX, a revenue execution agent for subscription businesses. When a customer's payment fails, REX follows up for the company: an email, then a text, then a friendly phone call in the customer's own language, within rules the company sets. It starts in shadow mode, so the company sees every decision before REX contacts anyone. Most subscription churn isn't a customer deciding to leave. Recurly's benchmarks put involuntary churn (failed payments nobody followed up on) at 20–40% of all churn. REX exists to win those customers back politely, before they're gone. Key facts: - **What REX does:** notices a failed payment, a card about to expire, or usage slipping; works out how at risk the customer is, how much it matters, and whether it may contact them; acts within the company's rules; then checks the result (was the payment made, was the promise kept). - **How it reaches customers:** quiet first. An email with a payment link, then a text, and a phone call only if the payment is still unpaid. It keeps to calling hours, rests between contacts, and never calls anyone who asked not to be called. - **On calls:** a two-way conversation in about 17 languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Spanish, French and Portuguese. REX can send a payment link during the call, agree a new payment date and follow it up, or offer a pause or cheaper plan if the company allows it. - **Control:** the company's rules decide what REX may do and offer; each offer at most once per customer every 90 days. A language model only interprets what the customer says. It never decides amounts or offers. Every decision is recorded with the rule that allowed it. - **Shadow mode:** REX runs on the company's real failed payments and records what it would do, without contacting or charging anyone, until the company switches it on. - **Billing systems:** Stripe today. Razorpay and Cashfree (UPI Autopay, e-mandates) are next. - **Not a debt collector:** REX works before anything is overdue, in the company's own name. - **Status:** early access; companies can join the waitlist on the site. ## Pages - [Home](https://softknockai.vercel.app/): what REX does, and answers to common questions - [Documentation](https://softknockai.vercel.app/docs): how REX decides, the core loop, integrations and policies - [Full product guide as text](https://softknockai.vercel.app/llms-full.txt): how REX decides, in one plain-text file ## Names Softknock is the company.
